Welcome to Hummingbird Hearts, a forum for ladies who have met their husbands/partners online and have left their home towns/countries to join him. Life's journey is sometimes totally unpredictable! I am a South African, my husband is American. We met online, fell in love, and our lives changed completely. We were both in secure jobs, had our lives in our different cultures, and we were certainly not looking for romance! After a six-month internet relationship, we met in person and decided that I would leave behind South Africa and move to the United States.
That was several years ago. Today we live in Texas, we've been through the INS papermill, we've successfully combined our lives, and we are happier than we ever thought possible.
We've been through a lot - packing up and moving to another country to be with someone is one of the most difficult journeys anyone can undertake - but we are proof that it can happen and have a fairytale ending!
